What is a Message Board?
A message board is a web-based message center where people can post questions or comments for others to read and respond to. Message boards are different from Mailing Lists because a user must visit the message board to read and respond to the board postings while, with mailing lists, a message is submitted to an e-mail address and received from the mail list. In addition, users generally do not have to subscribe to a message board in order to read or post messages while mailing lists messages are only sent to those who subscribe to the list.

Message Boards
The following four message boards deal with surnames that originate from North and South Carolina in the 1700s and, in my opinion, have connections to each other.

There are two ways to read the messages. To see all of the postings, click on the "Browse" button to go to the selected message board site. If you are looking for a specific person or phrase just enter the name or search word into the empty window of the surname box and press "Search." Only message board entries that contain that word or words will be displayed.

If you have any questions about these message boards, please let me know.
